Mechelen-Nekkerspoel Station Building
Startingpoint — Ontvoeringsplein 12
This second station in Mechelen was built in 1912 with a view to taking the passengers of the time – the better-off – nearer to the town centre. Imposing like a grand town house in Flemish neo-Renaissance style, it is an architectural reference to the 16th century, a period of boom for the city and the whole region. Currently Lu’s Paragraph, a communication company, has its seat in the station building.
